If you use DMSO as a dietary supplement, could you tell me which brand, etc. you buy?

December 17, 2009

Also, what dose do you use, do you have a link to the specific DMSO product you use?

Thanks.

P.S.: I know that it is a solvent, and I know exactly what it does. It *can* be handled and taken safely. So if you are one of the people who don’t think others should use it for health reasons, your answer isn’t going to help.

We always used it on the horses. It certainly does a “job” on a persons hands. I never injested it myself. It turns into hardened crystals when it gets cold. Have you tried a vet supply store? It’s the same stuff the stores once sold for humans…they just put a warning label on it so no one sues them!

I have never heard of anyone taking it. Years ago it was touted as a help for aches and pains—get it on you and you taste and smell like an oyster–hmmm. It is an ointment in a tube never knew of it being a pill.

I once read a lot about it,
& it is my understanding from that info, that:

DMSO is not recommended by ANYone as an ORAL supplement.
Pure DMSO is not generally available to be sold to the public.
The DMSO that is available even in HFSs –Industrial DMSO– has toxic properties.
MSM –made from DMSO– can be bought pure, and is suggested to be used both orally, and topically.
MSM does not irritate skin, or dissolve other residues or synthetic fabrics, to take with it into your skin when applied topically, like DMSO does. But it does most other things DMSO does.
MSM is sulfer –like DMSO– but has no odor.
I twice used DMSO, & it did what I wanted it to. But now I use MSM, because it is safer, & does everything I need it to.
Also, DMSO freezes at about 70 degrees F.–inconvenient at times
MSM is a powder, & can be bought in capsules, or bulk.
But not all MSM is the same quality…

I’ve been using it for years but only as a cream to put on my shoulders and elbows before going to the gym and it works perfectly. I buy mine from IhealthTree.com and use the DMSO cream with aloe and rose scented with 70% DMSO and 30% aloe vera in the 4 oz. jar and they are now having a sale on the DMSO. It has the orange label on it.
